Windsor Lower School is looking to hire an inspiring, passionate, inclusive and approachable PE Coach.

The PE Coach plays a key role in promoting health, wellbeing and a lifelong enjoyment of sport. Working with students ages 3–11 (Pre-Reception to Year 6/Grade 5), the successful candidate will deliver engaging PE lessons across the primary school while helping to guide, mentor and motivate our broader primary sports programme. The role includes teaching lessons, supporting competitive opportunities for students and helping to foster a positive sporting culture across the school.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching Physical Education
- Teach PE lessons to all primary year groups from Pre-Reception to Year 6 (Grade 5).
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate PE lessons that build fundamental movement skills.
- Ensure lessons are inclusive, active and enjoyable for students of all abilities.
- Promote positive attitudes towards physical activity, teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Maintain safe practice in all lessons and ensure equipment is used responsibly.
2. Supporting Student Development
- Encourage confidence, resilience and participation in sport.
- Support students in developing coordination, balance, agility and strength.
- Set clear expectations while maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Motivate students to challenge themselves and develop a sense of personal achievement.
3. Developing the Primary Sports Programme
- Help guide and support the development of sport across the primary school.
- Encourage broad participation while also nurturing students who show particular interest or ability in sport.
- Promote teamwork, fair play and respect through sporting experiences.
4. After School Activities
- Plan and lead a range of after school sports clubs that encourage participation and enjoyment.
- Provide opportunities for students to develop skills and confidence in a variety of sports.
- Ensure after school activities are well organised, safe and engaging.
5. Fixtures and Competitions
- Arrange and support sporting fixtures with other schools.
- Work closely with the Athletics Director to coordinate competitions both within the school and externally.
- House sports competitions are a fun and structured way to build teamwork, school spirit, and healthy competition at Windsor. The PE Coach / Teacher would be responsible for the planning, organizing and running of all house sports throughout the academic year.
- Prepare and support students participating in competitions and sporting events.
- Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork and sportsmanship when representing the school.
6. Collaboration with Staff
- Work closely with colleagues to support cross-curricular links where appropriate.
- Communicate with teachers and school leadership regarding sports events and opportunities.
- Support school-wide events such as Sports Day and other physical activity initiatives.

- Be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple sporting activities and events.
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and families.
- Ideally have knowledge of BAISS sports and competitions on the island.
