The Pursuit of Excellence
Windsor's Elite Athletics Programs push serious and dedicated student-athletes to improve their skills with expert coaching and access to top-notch facilities, providing the highest level of competition and supporting athletes' goals, including the pursuit of collegiate athletics.
Elite Athletic Programs include Performance Rowing, Performance Tennis, and The Albany Golf Academy. The programs are integrated into the daily schedule at Windsor with dedicated training periods as well as daily after-school practices.
Performance Rowing
Led by Coach Rob Gibson, a former Olympic rower, the Performance Rowing program is designed for Windsor Rowing Club’s most competitive athletes, and elite rowers may represent Windsor School and The Bahamas at international rowing regattas. Daily training sessions place an emphasis on refining technical ability while also developing physical conditioning and mental resilience.
Members of this program usually target a path to rowing scholarships and should have a strong interest in rowing at the collegiate level.
Student-athletes train year-round on the beautiful Lake Cunningham, a hub for competitive rowing on the island and home to The Nassau Rowing Club. Windsor Rowing Club student-athletes also train in the world-class fitness center at Windsor Upper School, following a weekly schedule that includes physical and mental training, leadership skills and nutrition.
Performance Tennis
Through daily personalized conditioning, coaching, and guidance, the Performance Tennis program helps student-athletes improve all aspects of their game.
Student-athletes of the program spend multiple hours training on the court with match play, skill development and match-simulation drills.
Student-athletes also travel globally to compete in numerous well-regarded tournaments, preparing them for collegiate tennis.
